lotto winner gives away 562 million Pesos

I found this story very interesting because this winning couple understand that their are more things important than money.

An elderly couple who won around $11,255,272 million ( X 50 pesos ) from a lottery ticket in Canada have given the money away to good causes and family.

Violet and Allen Large, who live in rural Nova Scotia, decided they had no need for the money and, four months after the Lotto 6-49 win, have given virtually all of it to churches, animal charities, hospitals and other groups.

"What you've never had, you never miss," Violet Large, 78, who is recovering from cancer. "We have an old house, but we're comfortable and we're happy in it."

"It made us feel good," she said about giving the money away. "And there’s so much good being done with that money."

Allen Large was a steel welder and his wife worked for cosmetics and chocolate companies during 30 years when they lived in Ontario. Married since 1974, they moved to Lower Truro in Nova Scotia in 1983.
They were pretty well set, not millionaires, but comfortable.

He described the lottery win as "a big headache," while his wife was concerned about "crooked people" who might try to exploit them.

'We have each other'
"That money that we won was nothing — we have each other," Allen Large told the newspaper, which said he choked back tears as he spoke.

The Chronicle-Herald said after giving some money to family, the couple made donations to various good causes such as:

* the local fire department;
* churches;
* cemeteries;
* the Red Cross;
* the Salvation Army;
* hospitals in Truro and Halifax that treated Violet Large for cancer;
* and organizations that fight cancer, Alzheimer's disease and diabetes.

"We're the lucky ones. I have no complaints," Violet Allen said.

The Globe and Mail newspaper said the couple lived in a 19th century home and drove a 13-year-old car and a five-year-old truck. They don't have a microwave and are even without voicemail.

'We're not high-class people'
The news has already sparked headlines as far away as the U.K., but Violet Large said they had not given away the money for fame.

"We didn’t do it to get recognized. Why spend money when you already have everything you need?" she told the Globe and Mail Thursday.

"We haven't spent even one penny on ourself. We're not travelers and we're not high-class people," she added.

Her husband said they had "a little bit left, not that much."

"But we had sufficient before. We worked for 30 years and put some away each year," he added, according to the Globe and Mail.

The Toronto Star reported that the news of the couple's generosity was the talk of the town.

"People who know them just know that's the type of people they are — they're just happy to have each other," Lori Hingley, owner of the Shillelagh House restaurant in Lower Truro, told the paper.

"I think people are wondering why they didn't keep any and treat themselves, but mostly people just think it's great how generous they were," she added.

How Filipino lotto winners claimed their millions

MANILA, Philippines - Lotto winners faces tough security check at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) before he could claim his prize.

Before he can enter the new PCSO office at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), he has to register his name and state the purpose of his visit at the guard station.

If he is a prizewinner, he will be asked if he won a minor or a major prize, information that some winners do not want to disclose.

His ticket will then be verified for the winning combination. If the winnings are confirmed, he will be issued a check within two hours.

As policy of the PCSO management, his identity will not be disclosed but will be recorded in the logbook of the PICC and in the CCTV cameras in the compound.

Hitting the lotto jackpot can be both life changing and taxing to the winner, security-wise. Because of this, some winners take some time to claim their prize.

A PCSO source disclosed that the winner of the P201 million Super Lotto jackpot last February carefully planned the claiming of his instant wealth and its expenditure.

The winner of the P210,473,805.60 jackpot prize, waited three months before claiming his prize.

The source said that he first went to the PCSO office along E. Rodriguez Avenue to observe the building. Deciding that claiming the prize so soon may endanger his life, he transferred his family to another residence and went on a mountain climbing retreat to ponder on how to deal with his fortune.

After three months, he surfaced at the PCSO office wearing a wig and large sunglasses.

“He was so cool, he did not create any waves, he presented his winning ticket and upon verification he got the check for his winnings,” the source said.

The winner casually walked out of the PCSO office. That was the last they saw of him.

The source also disclosed that in 2008, a 61-year-old construction worker from Novaliches claimed his P249- million jackpot after a weeklong stakeout at the PCSO compound.

On the first day of his surveillance, the winner pretended to seek medical assistance. After observing the procedures at the compound, he and a niece went directly to the office of the chairman to claim his winnings.

Filipino lotto winner tells his sad story

THE P741-million Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot prize has already been claimed Thursday afternoon by a 60-year-old male Balikbayan.

The Balikbayan from New York had also confirmed that he bought the winning ticket at a lotto outlet in Royal Duty Free Mall in Olongapo City.

The lucky bettor was accompanied by his three relatives.

He also requested the agency to divide the prize into two checks.

The winner arrived in the country on November 8 together with his wife and three children to attend a reunion.

On Tuesday, an 82-year-old woman tried to claim the jackpot prize but she failed to present the winning ticket.

She said she asked her grandchild to buy 5 tickets. Her grandchild turned over 4 tickets, but didn't return the one that won the jackpot.

The old woman reportedly asked PCSO not to give the prize to her grandchild, who has not shown up and may have gone into hiding. Well lets wait for this story on how it will end.

A tricycle driver from Tanay, Rizal and a jeepney driver from Taguig got more than P2-million jackpot each for the 6/45 Mega Lotto draws last Dec. 1 draw and the Dec. 4 draw.

This reminds me of my previous article that's says even one bet will do.
The 32-year-old tricycle driver bought only two tickets worth P20 , one with the lucky pick numbers chosen by the computer and the other his own set of numbers.

We all dream of hitting the big one, or wish that we could fall into instant riches by simply choosing the right winning lotto numbers or allowing them to be randomly generated from a computerized lotto machine onto
a little piece of paper, just like the Olongapo lotto jackpot winner.

But it has often been said that we should be very careful about what we wish for as everything comes with a price.

The actual chances of becoming a lotto winner are astronomical to begin with, but when fate intervenes, miraculous things can happen that will forever change a person’s life, for better or worse.

A Lotto winner who won P82 million in 2004 is now experiencing financial troubles.
Christian Tongol from Pampanga won P82 million in the lottery in 2004, but now he sometimes finds himself short on cash.

After winning big, he was able to buy six houses and three vehicles, embark on several business ventures, give his family property, help out people in need, and fund the construction of a barangay church and basketball court.

However, one misfortune after another befell him. Three family members--his father, father in law and sibling--were hospitalized for long periods of time before they passed away. Tongol himself was also involved in an accident.

Now, only a house in Pampanga, a motorcycle, and a fishpond are all that's left of the Tongols' posessions. Sometimes, their earnings are not enough for their daily needs.

Today he confesses there are times he struggles to keep up with his obligations.

Lucky pick wins P741.156m

A lone bettor who defied a one-to-29 million chance of winning and grabbed the P741,176,323.20 jackpot, the highest in the country's on-lottery games
after the 86th draw of Grand Lotto

The punter, one of the scores of millions who placed their bets Monday, will now go down in the record books as the bettor who defied near impossible odds to win the richest prize ever in PCSO on-line lotteries.

53 bettors guessed five numbers correctly and will get P150,000 each, 3,967 have four correct numbers for P2,000 prize each, and 99,541 got three right numbers for P150 each.

The luckiest person who won the biggest jackpot in the history of the Philippine lotto placed the winning bet in Olongapo City.

The lone winner bought the winning ticket inside the lone lotto outlet inside the Subic Bay Freeport. it was a "lucky pick" or was randomly picked by the computer.

For the past 86 draws you feel so excited on every draw. You never missed to bet because you have to be consistent in your bets just to make sure chances are you might hit the jackpot.

But the smoke has been cleared and 1 lotto bettor made it. I know you still have a hangover on it because you didn't hit the jackpot and it will take at least few more days just to get over it. And 6 more months just to reach that kind of jackpot prize again.

And yet...how many dreams have you had - how many
important Plans have you set?
Does it frustrate you? Make you sad?

Maybe even a little angry because you've worked so hard. You have use all your formulas all the computations and maybe all ways just to come up with a good combination's of numbers but still failed and you still haven't won the jackpot.

It is because we cannot force God to let our lotto numbers come out anytime we want. We should let God on its own time, let our lotto numbers come out.

All lotto Jackpot winners have realized this when they won the Jackpot. They waited for it. So you have to wait for it too. And your time will come. Anytime now, just believe on it and it will come, believe me.

Everyone has a chance to win. Every bettor has a chance of winning. It’s a game of
chance. The most important thing is just be consistent only in your bet.
Your chance of winning is just as good as anyone else.

Remember the chance of the lotto Jackpot winner from Olongapo city and your chance of winning the lotto jackpot was just the same, except that He or She was more luckier than us.

Lotto bettor says one bet will do

No one got the lucky combination of 04-40-41--42-45-55 that would have netted a whopping P633,911,065.20

Wednesday's result was the 84th draw of the 6/55 Grand Lotto with no winner.

On Saturday, November 27, the jackpot prize could go as high as P685 million.
With no one getting the jackpot, the amount is expected to continue growing bigger, with the next draw this coming Saturday.

Filipinos who lined up for lotto tickets up to Wednesday night are also expected to line up AGAIN for their tickets for Saturday's draw.

While no one hit the jackpot( Wednesday Nov.24 2010), there were several people who won low-tier prizes. Fifty-eight people won P150,000 each for getting five correct numbers.

A total of 4,470 got four numbers correct and won P2,000 each, while 103,902 others won P150 each for guessing three correct numbers.

111 lotto bettors got five digits of the winning lotto combination last Saturday also Nov. 20 and won the consolation price of P150,000 each. They were just one digit shy away from the jackpot. I know they will never forget this, either they can say they were lucky to receive a consolation prize or they were unlucky because they were not able to hit the jackpot.

Lotto has driven some people to prayer and others to superstitious practices.
Feng shui expert advised lotto bettors to wear their favorite shirts when they go to a lotto outlet to place there bets.

Some bettors pick numbers in random. Many rely on numbers that have significance in their lives—numbers related to their ages, birthdays and other important dates.

Others bet in thousands
Others bet in hundreds
Others pray harder these days.
Others don’t usually pray the rosary, but now they do, especially a few hours before they bet.

More people go to church on the day of the draw. bettors rub their tickets on the images of saints, hoping it would bring them good fortune.

A religious lotto bettor says:
If he wants to make me a millionaire overnight, He’d give it to me even if I only have one bet.

Many lotto bettors have won the jackpot with only one bet and that has been proven many times.

Lotto results ..... Back to the future

The wait is still on for the bettor who will win the 6/55 Grand Lotto as no one won the over P495 million jackpot during (Nov. 17 2010) Wednesday night’s draw.

The next draw for the 6/55 Grand Lotto is on Saturday night. The jackpot is expected to reach P535 million. I hope their would be at least 3 or more winners for this draw including me and you.

Tip .....
Everyone has a chance to win. Every bettor has a chance of winning “It’s a game of
chance. The most important is to be consistent only in your bet.
Your chance of winning is just as good as anyone else's.

Remember the movie ... Back to the future?
What if you have a record for the future results of our lotto games?

Once there was a chronic gambler who said: "I would do anything, even the devil's work, to see the lotto winning numbers ahead of the draw. I would become the richest man in the world."

Well, he got his wish. A messenger came to his door and handed him a newspaper dated one month ahead. Excited, the man turned to the page where the winning numbers were listed. There before his eyes were all the results of lotto draws for one month and that would entitle him to win millions and millions of pesos.

He was excited imagining what he would do with all the huge amount. But as he turned the pages, his heart skipped a beat. For there he saw his name printed in big, bold prints — on the obituary page. On the day he wins, he will also die... SORRY !!!

Positive thinking and Conditioning our minds..
How to win a lotto jackpot is not a "stroll in the park." It takes a lot of focus, Prayers, 100% effort of belief that you will win the lotto and "never say die" . You have to really commit to it, both consciously and subconsciously. You have to believe in your heart and mind that you can win it and you deserve it.
Be cheerful. Avoid negative thoughts, like envy of others. Believe luck is on your side.

Lotto bettors doesn't mind the odds

NO WINNER for the 6/55 draw ( Nov. 10 2010 ) with a Jackpot prize of P383 million. This is a record prize for being the biggest jackpot to be offered by PCSO at the moment.

The jackpot will surpass the P347,836,903.20 that 2 people won and shared in the 6/49 Super Lotto draw on February 22, 2009. As far as I could remember the other winner has not claimed the jackpot prize that expired last Feb 22 2010.
The other half was won and claimed by a 50-year-old housewife from Caloocan City.

The 6/55 Grand Lotto Draw has not had a winner for almost six months with 58 draws since it was first drawn on May 15, 2010. It started with a minimum jackpot prize of P30 million

Odds of winning
Statistics show that the odds are one in 28.99 million to win a 6/55 Grand Lotto.
Lotto bettors doesn't mind the odds, they are betting because of the JACKPOT.

Problem ...
If you win, prepare for radical changes in your life. Your life will change. You will not know how to spend the money, who to share it with, who not to share it with, and where to invest or hide your money. It is not easy. Maybe you will say try "ME"

The unidentified female government worker from Naic, Cavite, won 2 weeks ago 6/49 Super Lotto jackpot of P152,513,661.60.The winner placed a P120 bet on the lucky combination.

For more than 10 years of waiting, she clung to that number combination—22-35-29-21-33-26. 2 weeks ago her persistence paid off.

Did you remember my article about a lotto winner from Batangas who also waited for 15 years ? (May 23 2010 article) His persistence paid off also.

Well, nobody had won the lotto prize that will go up to about P400 million this coming draw on Saturday. They say many have become prayerful, imploring the Lord and all the saints to make them win it. I had a friend who was having financial problems and when he begged his sister to lend him money, she advised him to attend the novenas to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He did go to the novena, but later told us he could not go on singing the final hymn, especially the verse that goes: “I do not sigh for the wealth of earth…” How can I sing that when I need money? he said. I wonder how the lotto hopefuls phrase their prayers these days.

5 millionaires in one week

The P312-million Grand Lotto jackpot is still up for grabs after nobody got the winning combination on Wednesday night draw November 3 2010.
With the Grand Lotto Prize now hitting P312 million, more and more lotto bettors are becoming "Marian" and "Black Nazarene" devotees.

Five-Millionaire streak in six days.

Say it in any way you like. It could be a, believe it or not, only in the Philippines, pure luck or Divine Intervention. But as Christmas nears Lotto created five instant millionaires who won a total jackpot of P200,693,652 from October 25 to 30.

1. One bettor won on October 25 in the Mega lotto 6/45 draw with a jackpot of P18,606,636.
A jobless 34-years-old married female bettor in Liliw, Laguna, started the lucky streak on October 25, with her P20 bet, a 2 lotto combination bet, sounds familiar to me, for the Mega lotto winning combination – 06-17-24-45-22-28 – snaring the P18,606,636 bonanza.

2. Another lotto winner on October 26 in the Super Lotto 6/49 (P152,513,661.60) bought six lotto combination's worth for p120.
A female government employee has gone home richer by P152 million.
The lucky bettor has been playing the same combination for 10 years and finally hit the jackpot in Tuesday night’s Super Lotto draw, sounds familiar to me also.
The lone jackpot winner is 52 years old, single and a resident of Naic, Cavite.

3. Two lotto winners on October 29, from Mega lotto 6/45 (P8,111,381.40),

4. The fifth lotto jackpot winner on October 30 for Lotto 6/42 (P21,461,974.20).

A week-long streak of lotto winners.
Thus, in only six days in the last week of October 2010. Lotto generated five millionaires.

This 5 lucky lotto jackpot winners are ordinary lotto bettors just like us. They have finally fulfilled their dreams that one day they will hit the lotto jackpot and become millionaires.

Maybe you are wondering how this 5 lotto winners were able to win the jackpot prize?
Did they have the same secret lotto formula to win? How were they able to choose the right numbers?

And you wonder, 5 lotto jackpot winners in one week ? “Why can’t this be me?” Why ?

Well, if you were able to read my past articles in this blog, You would probably know whats the.... SECRET.

Life of a lotto winner

My friend never fails to bet the lotto because he is a consistent bettor. He follows my advice on how to win a lotto jackpot. He has his plans ready just in case he wins the jackpot.

I know my friend very well because we grow up together in the province.
I saw how he live his life during those old days, how the ups and down were.
Ive seen him down to the wire.
I've seen him living off everything that belonged to him. Selling his watch, his radio cassette and personal belongings just to get by. He even told me once he have nothing left to sell on his personal belongings.

I often wonder what would happen if my friend wins the lotto jackpot? Probably he would just drop everything and fly back to our province. my favorite place on earth, and start a new life there. Seeing old friends, making new friends, doing new things in a completely new environment. The thought of it excites me no end. I Imagine him living it up, without a care in the world, having millions in the bank. Having a big business, living in a big mansion , driving the latest Suv, having his old radio cassette which he sold way way back replaced to a home theater components with 3D Tv. Having the latest Nokia cellphone model, the latest laptop,I pods and other electronic gadgets. Seeing him like a 16 years old 4th year high school working student all over again and just as a happy go lucky guy.
I'm sure that his winnings wont go to waste because he knows what a hard life means.

Just as I feel happy for him and my energy level peaking, reality sets in, Before I could think of it, I saw him, he was back to his daily routine job, and to the realization that this will just have to be a dream .... for the moment for him until he wins the lotto jackpot.

Rags to Riches to Rags

I Found this article very interesting about a lotto jackpot winner. A lesson to be learned for all lotto bettors once you hit the jackpot. This is a typical story on how you spend your winnings and how you share with other people. read it carefully because you will see how those people you help and shared your winnings would do when you are back in your worst situation.

By KEITH MORELLI

HUDSON - From a ruined family life to a $13 million Florida Lottery jackpot to abject poverty and ultimately federal prison, Rhoda Toth's life has more chapters than "War and Peace."

The final chapter, she said last week, fresh out of a halfway house and now on her own, is a long way off. She's hoping for a Disney ending.

Her Lotto saga began on a rainy night in May 1990 when she was sitting around with her second husband, Alex. They had $27.20, but he decided to drive to the Circle K on Trouble Creek Road in New Port Richey and spend $5 on Lotto.

He came home and left the ticket in the car, with windows down, all night. It turned out to be one of three winning tickets for a $47 million jackpot.

That came to $13 million for the Toths, who instantly went from living from paycheck to paycheck to multimillionaires.

Looking back, she has a surprising perspective.

"It was my worst day," she said.

From the beginning, she said, she knew they were handling their good luck badly. They decided to get payments over 20 years and the yearly payment came to $666,666.66.

"It was too many sixes for me," she said. "My husband said it was evil money." That may have been prophetic.

They lived it up

They lived large for a while. They went to Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Atlantic City, N.J. They took their friends, way more than they knew they had.

They gave away cash to their entourage indiscriminately. One woman, a cousin, got a new car; another got $47,000 in cash to pay off her mortgage.

There were suddenly lots of friends, lots of hands held out and the Toths couldn't think of a reason not to be generous.

"I felt sorry for them," she said. "We took care of family and we took care of friends. We took care of people we didn't even know. The more you did for people, the more they wanted."

The Toths traveled. A lot. They did the talk show circuit and Rhoda even met Oprah Winfrey. In 2001, the Toths sat in the front row of the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City. She still has the gold-painted ticket.

"I met Donald Trump," she grinned.

Rampant gambling by her husband dipped deep into the windfall, she said. "He went down to Tampa one day and lost $75,000," she said. "Once, over a week in Tahoe, he lost $400,000."

It caught up with them. The 3,000-square-foot home - with a $92,000 swimming pool - the couple bought in Hudson was put up as collateral for a loan and eventually was foreclosed upon.

A few years later, the couple sold the remaining installments to an annuity company so they could pay their bills. A short time later, they ended up in a mobile home, getting electricity from a car engine and drawing drinking water from buckets filled at neighbors' homes.

Then the Internal Revenue Service came calling.

The Toths were charged with tax fraud, though Rhoda Toth said all their financial affairs were in the hands of accountants. The IRS said the couple owed about $3 million and filed criminal charges.

The stress took its toll on Alex Toth. In 2008, he had a heart attack and died just before the couple was to go on trial. Before he died, he wrote a letter to his wife saying his death would be better for them.

In some ways, she thinks, it was. He was in a better place, she said, and the IRS relented on charges that could have landed her in prison for 24 years and imposed a $16,000-a-month fine for the rest of her life.

She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years in federal prison.

"The hardest thing I have ever had to do, except for burying my mom and dad, was turning myself in and flying to Texas to go into prison," she said. "I had never seen the inside of a jail. It was very scary."

She did time with women who had committed much worse crimes, such as one who murdered her husband and chopped him up with a hatchet.

But she made friends at the Federal Medical Center Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas, and eventually fit in, she said.

She wouldn't trade the friends she made in prison for the friends she had when she was a multi-millionaire.

"You can trust your friends in prison more," she said. "You only have your word in prison and that's a lot."

The friends she had when she was rich, she says, are nowhere to be found now that she is poor. "Gone," she said. "They are just gone. I bought a car and a home for my friends and when I went to prison, I didn't hear from anybody."

When her time was up at Carswell, the federal government gave her $50 in cash and bought a $152 bus ticket for her from Fort Worth to Tampa.

That was in April. She was placed in a halfway house in Tampa for three months and then cut loose. She still has to serve seven months probation but is free after that. Free and broke.

'Down to nothing'

"I am down to nothing," she said. "I don't have a penny in my pocket." She hailed a neighbor. "Hey!" she yelled. "Can I bum a cigarette?" He handed her a cigarette and a lighter.

Toth, 53, will begin collecting a widow's pension and disability this month that amounts to $1,084 a month, out of which she has to pay $100 a month to the IRS.

She lives with her son and can't work because she is disabled. She has multiple sclerosis that occasionally flares up, leaving her senseless, unaware of where she is or what she is doing, she said.

She walked through her dilapidated mobile home with a visitor last week. Tears welled up in her eyes. Just before she went to prison, she took up with a boyfriend. He told her he would wait for her.

Instead, she says, he lived in her mobile home and eventually sold her furniture, pulled the copper wiring out of the walls and shot windows out from inside the home.

He ended up leaving and returning to his wife in Massachusetts. "I never knew he was even married," Toth said.

She's alone now, except for her son and his wife and her grandchildren, and they fill her days.

She's not sure how she will get back on her feet, but feels confident it will happen.

"I wish I had my life back before all this," she said, in the foul-smelling mobile home, looking over to where her china cabinet used to be.

"I come here and do a lot of crying. I pray every day that I am going to wake up and this will be nothing but a nightmare."

Still, she's hopeful things will turn out well. She's being counseled by a pastor and has a probation officer who is helping her adjust to freedom and living on a short budget.

"In the long run, something good will come out of this," she said. "If not, it's a lesson to be learned."

Any advice for big money winners? "Get a good attorney and get a good accountant," she said. "And get counseling. Don't let family and friends control what you do with your life."

Important lesson to be learned for lotto bettors just in case anytime now you hit
the lotto jackpot.

Remember this what Mrs. Toth said:

"We took care of family and we took care of friends. We took care of people we didn't even know. The more you did for people, the more they wanted."

The friends she had when she was rich, she says, are nowhere to be found now that she is poor. "Gone," she said. "They are just gone. I bought a car and a home for my friends and when I went to prison, I didn't hear from anybody."

Any advice for big money winners? "Don't let family and friends control what you do with your life."

Praying mom wins P 405 million pesos

This is a story about a Filipino lotto winner way back 2007 who won P 405 million pesos because she prayed for help and that prayer was answered.

By The Denver Post
Posted: 11/27/2007 07:16:17 AM MST

Gloria Aguda plans to pay off mortgage, help her family from her $9 million ( P405 million pesos )lotto prize money.

Gloria Aguda was on the verge of losing her home to foreclosure and couldn't afford a trip to the doctor. Depressed, the 50-year-old Fountain resident prayed for help. Last week those prayers were answered when she matched all six numbers in the Lotto drawing for a $9 million (P405 million pesos ) jackpot.

"My heart was pounding so bad," said Aguda, a single mother of two adult sons who has worked two jobs to support her family.

The family struggled to make ends meet as Aguda also studied to become a medical assistant. "My kids have worked so hard to save the house," a tearful Aguda said in a statement released by the Colorado Lottery.

She plans to pay off the mortgage on her home and other bills with the cash lump sum of $4.5 million she opted for, Colorado Lottery officials said.

Aguda also will provide financial support for her extended family, including a partially blind brother who lives in her native Philippines. The money will also allow Aguda's sons to finish college and pay off school loans.

She purchased the winning Lotto ticket from the Safeway at 6925 Mesa Ridge Road in Fountain. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, Lotto officials said.

Wrong date ... Couple lose P89-M lotto jackpot

This is a story about a couple who said that they have won the lotto jackpot.
The only problem was, they have the wrong draw date.

This is a lesson to be learned for lotto bettors who just pay the lotto attendant and never check there lotto tickets draw date.

Thanks to Leila Salaverria for this story.

MANILA, Philippines--A couple lost their bid to claim more than P89 million from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office after the Court of Appeals dismissed their petition to overturn a lower court ruling against them.

In dismissing the appeal of Ernesto and Marcelina Alburo, the appellate court said they used the wrong legal remedy since they should have questioned the Quezon City regional trial court's decision in a different petition and not an ordinary appeal.

The Quezon City RTC dismissed the Alburos' civil case to compel the PCSO to pay them the P89.2-million lotto grand prize, plus a P20,000 consolation prize, from the November 6, 1999 draw which they said they won. The RTC said there was lack of evidence to back up the couple's claim.

The Alburos claimed that they won the November 6 grand prize and that they placed their bets on the morning of that day, but that there had been a printing error in their tickets, which showed that they made their bets in the morning of November 7, 1999 for the November 9, 1999 draw.

They placed the bets at an outlet at the corner of IBP Road and Commonwealth Avenue.

But the Quezon City RTC ruled that their tickets clearly showed they placed their bets on November 7 and hence did not qualify for the November 6 draw. The Alburos then elevated the matter to the Court of Appeals
According to the appellate court, the couple raised issues of law against the Quezon City RTC, in particular questioning its acceptance of PCSO's evidence even if these had not been formally offered, thus violating the rules of court, and for violating the Constitution for for failing to state the legal basis for dismissing their motion for reconsideration.

Since there were no questions of fact, the couple's remedy of filing an ordinary appeal was the wrong mode, and they should instead have filed a petition for certiorari, said the Court of Appeals.

"Clearly, the appeal having been improperly brought before the Court of Appeals, the same should be dismissed outright," it said in a September 7 decision.

The Alburos violated the rules of court because their appeal did not contain a statement of facts, according to the appellate court. The appellate court described the right to appeal as a statutory right and those who wished to use it should follow the rules.

"Verily, the rules of procedure are tools designed to promote efficiency and orderliness, as well as, to facilitate attainment of justice, such that strict adherence thereto is required... Utter disregard of the rules cannot be rationalized by harking on the policy of liberal construction," it said.

Named respondents in the petition are the PCSO represented by Cecilia Muñoz-Palma, several of its officers and directors, the Benjamin Quirino Lotto Outlet and Lucia Villareno.

A lotto winner ?

I found this old news interesting. this is a story about a lotto bettor who said he has the lotto winning ticket but was told it was fake.

Thanks to Iloilo views
Author: powwow Posted on February 25th, 2009

I asked those questions in the light of the experience of a supposedly jackpot winner. Though vaguely, our readers will remember the published case of that man – Calito L. Mirando Jr. of Caragsacan, Dingsalan, Aurora – whose winning ticket was dishonored for being “fake.” It deserves an update, lest it would be completely forgotten.

The case first hugged public attention on April 22, 1999 when an investigative reporter, Janet Rebusio Ducayag, wrote very belatedly in the tabloid People’s Tonight a news feature on Mirando having been deprived of the lotto prize of P120,163,123, drawn way back on the night of March 9, 1996.

Ducayag wrote that, early that day, Mirando, a lumber salesman, went to a lotto ticket outlet at ACT theater in Cubao, Quezon City and bought a ticket – then costing ten pesos – betting on the combination 15-22-23-24-34-36.

The following day, he read the newspaper that his ticket had won. He walked back to the ACT lotto outlet and showed his winning ticket to the lady teller, who immediately inserted the ticket to the computerized machine verifier. The computer screen flashed the words, “Congratulations for winning the jackpot prize!”

On March 18, 1996, Mirando – clad in t-shirt, short pants and slippers, hence looking every inch like a tramp – showed up at the PCSO office on San Marcelino St., Manila. No less than then PCSO Chairman Manuel Morato met him at the reception room and got hold of his ticket. Morato excused himself to go to his office. An hour passed before he re-emerged. He returned the ticket, telling Mirando that it’s a counterfeit, and that somebody else, a driver from Lipa City, had bagged the jackpot.

To appease him, a PCSO legal counsel, Atty. Romualdo Quiñones, advised him to stop arguing with the chairman and go to court instead.

Before going to court, Mirando sought the help of Department of Justice (DOJ) State Prosecutor Teresita Domingo and Judge Luisito Cortez of the Municipal Trial Court of Plaridel, Bulacan. They arranged for Mirando to meet with Morato at Sulo Restaurant, Quezon City, with the end view of settling the problem out of court. But Morato did not show up.

Consequently, with the financial support of sympathetic lumber dealers, Mirando filed a case for damages and for payment of P120-million prize against PCSO and chairman Morato on September 1, 2000 before Judge Thelma Ponferrada of the Regional Trial Court Branch 215, Quezon City.

One of the witnesses for the plaintiff, Edwin Alibuyog of the Philippine Gaming Management Corporation (the exclusive supplier of lotto ticket-dispensing computers, including the one assigned to ACT outlet), vouched for the authenticity of Mirando’s ticket.

Surprisingly, when the court sought the ACT outlet teller for her testimony, she was no longer at her post. In fact, the outlet itself had suddenly moved out without prior notice.

Nevertheless, Alibuyog debunked the assertion of Morato that somebody other than Mirando had won the P120-million, March 9, 1996 jackpot. Morato’s purported winner, a jeepney driver from Lipa City, could not have won because the outlet from where he had allegedly bought his ticket, Zenco Sales on Libertad St., Pasay City, started operating only on April 28, 1996 – more than six weeks after the March 9 draw.

While this case was pending in court, Carlito Mirando Jr. had to move from a friend’s house to another’s due to threats to his life. There was a time when, at the business address of a lumber dealer in Cabanatuan City, a group of armed men came looking for him.

The reporter of People’s Tonight who first exposed the Mirando misfortune, Janet Ducayag, testified that Morato had warned him not to testify for Mirando. But she did, saying that unidentified men had strafed her car while parking on Del Pan, Port Area, Manila. Fortunately, she was not inside.

This writer has also repeatedly questioned the credibility of lotto draws. In this corner last month, I echoed the opinion of Pangasinan Archbishop Oscar Cruz that there must be some hidden political agenda behind the massive promotion of lotto – aimed at luring the gullible to bet their bottom peso – in the light of renewed calls for charter change, which could open opportunity for the President to extend her term beyond 2010. Cruz is among the political analysts who believe that PCSO and PAGCOR money have been “effective” in the House as far as frustrating efforts to impeach GMA is concerned.

In response, a reader e-mailed me what I had not yet known: that Mirando had lost his case; it was dismissed by the RTC on April 27, 2005, sustaining Morato’s claim that Mirando’s ticket was fake.

On March 30, 2006, Carlito L. Mirando, Jr. appealed before the Court of Appeals, docketed as CA-GR CY No. 86399, assigning errors to the RTC’s decision.

Mirando, now 60 years old, still clings to the hope that, eventually, the Court of Appeals would reverse the lower court’s decision.

What are you doing with your lotto winnings?

Congratulations!

You've just won the lotto jackpot.

Tomorrows 6/55 lotto jackpot prize is almost P145 million. With 51 draws no lucky bettor has claimed the jackpot prize. Imagine if the numbers will be called tomorrow and you have the lucky ticket , what will you do with this truckload of money.

You may feel that it’s going to be a very very huge relief to know that your going to be able to pay all your debts, your rent ,electric bill, phone bill, groceries, food and etc. . you will feel that It’s like a heavy weight lifted.
Before winning the jackpot you had bills at home you didn’t know how they were going to be paid.

Going from being broke one day to being a millionaire the next day is a huge change in your life ,but the only problem mostly because once you have money, the problem starts in Yourself.
The decisions you make. You want to buy everything even useless things just to impress people or just for show off.

A huge problem having a lot of money is the pressure to spend a lot of money very quickly. When you are rich, everybody wants your money, especially your family, friends ,cousins, neighbors, etc. all wanted to borrow money from you. And of course you would gave it to them. Then, you have girlfriends or your wife who want you to buy them lots of expensive presents like cars, jewelry and clothes because you are rich and they want to show off to their friends. asking for your money–and you end up giving it to them.

But possibly the worst of all because when it comes to money, it is the blind leading the blind. We all spend our money as if it will never run out. For example, for you to be cool and respected by the other people you have to keep up with them. So, if one person buys a new SUV, you want to buy one too. I mean, you can’t be rich, driving a normal car like a Honda Civic or just an ordinary Toyota. You have to drive an expensive Hummer, Cadillac Escapade, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc.

You also have to have a huge expensive house. All the other rich do and if you just live in an average house, a townhouse or a 38 sq meter condo they look down at you. So, you have to spend a fortune buying huge house. And of course, the cellphones, laptops, I pods, the latest HDTV Etc..

We spend so much money on material things, it is insane. It is nothing for a lotto winner to spend P200,000 a month just for the gadgets. It is all extremely irresponsible. But, when you have your friends to impress and putting pressure on you every day to buy things, it becomes much easier to say yes than to say no, even as you are watching all of your money disappear.

A Lotto windfall changes all the parameters of how you live. It changes what you can do, what you no longer have to do, where you can live, how much you can travel. So much changes so fast that it can be terribly overwhelming, you may even feel what they call the .... money shock !!!

Anyway, one of this days you will be a lotto jackpot winner, I'm just giving you a glimpse of heaven on what a lotto winner usually does.
I will say it again, your decisions will make your money last for a long time or it will only take you 5 years or less to go back where you are now or worst.

Lotto millionaires ( 1,513 Lotto winners )

How to Get Rich ....

"There are Four ways to make money. You can inherit it. You can marry it. You can steal it. You can win it. (lotto)

How would you know if you are rich? You would probably reply, I would know if I was rich if I had no bills, or I had a lot of money in the bank, or had income producing investments or business, or I could buy whatever I want without having to go into debt.

If you gave any of the above answers you would be partially correct.
Most people perceive wealth or riches as the ability to be financially secure.

A person who is truly rich knows they are truly rich when they have achieved the most valuable asset of all: PERSONAL FREEDOM .....
This is true wealth, to have complete FREEDOM to live life on YOUR terms. Ill say it again ... FREEDOM to live life on YOUR terms.

If I give you 1 million pesos , then you would say that you are now rich. but you need to work 24 hours a day, everyday for the next 5 years, would you take it? I hope not, because you’d be working yourself out, working yourself as a slave, get exhausted, and basically end up not having the time to enjoy your 1 million.

Having all the money in the world and not having the time to enjoy the fruits of your labor is not a very good idea. Unfortunately, a lot of people end up in this situation. As they get promoted in the corporate ladder, they gain more responsibilities. More responsibilities mean more time working in the office. More time away from your family and more sacrifices.

Freedom means that no other people are dictating to you how to live your life. It also means that you are by yourself. No boss to tell you what to do.

If you want to go to Boracay by all means go.If you want to sleep 15 hrs a day then do it. If you want to travel around the world then go for it.

Freedom to do what you love, what you want to do, what you want, how you want it, how long you want it. No deadline no rules and limits are imposed.

Are your plans ready?

A friend of mine told me once that " She would love to win a large amount of money" from the lotto. but in reality she told me she doesn't know how to manage it when it comes to millions and she knows and believe that she would wind up loosing it all away.

she was afraid that, the same thing would happen to her that happened to a lotto winner who was admitted in a hospital because relatives and friends knew, and that caused her a nervous breakdown because she was pestered always.

The problem with us, when people knew that you won a lotto jackpot, no amount of money you give or lent to friends and families would be enough.
It will always be compared to the amount you won. they want you to give them in millions also, not in thousands.

Its like an obligation because you won, you are now oblige to give your winnings to them. it sounds crazy. if you say no, then they are now your enemies and if you say yes, expect everyday that you will hear knocks on your front door.

So the only solution to this problem is....
See to it that no one should know that you won the lotto jackpot.

Plan, plan , and plan carefully....
Plan on how much goes to the bank for time deposit. plan on how much goes to investments. plan on how much goes to charity. plan where you want to leave. plan on how you want to leave your life. So plan everything carefully .....
No planning means, you will guarantee yourself going broke.
So planning is more important than ever.

So if you want a safe advice....
To be on the safe side, it might be better just to choose the draws with small jackpot prizes than with bigger jackpot prizes. Do I sound serious?

I found this comment on my blog and I just love what it says...

I bet the lotto quietly that nobody knows. I keep myself simple. In case I will win the lotto jackpot, no big deal, just as nothing had happened. I will keep all the excitement and pleasure within me. no problem will be created.

Stories of lotto winners

Today's lotto jackpot prize is ...... and the winning numbers are ........

I found this sad stories of lotto winners who ended up loosing all there millions. I hope this will give us some lessons on how to handle our money carefully in case we hit a lotto jackpot.

I was planning to write sad stories of Filipino lotto winners but I have only 2 lotto winners who ended up being killed and the other one loosing all his millions to gambling. In case Ill have 5 to 8 sad stories of filipino lotto winners then ill write it soon.

Here are some list of lottery winners in America who succumbed to the pitfalls of sudden wealth and the greed of others.( $ 1 converted into pesos X 50 pesos )

* Jeffrey Dampier: The Tampa, Fla., resident and his wife won the $20 million (1 billion pesos )prize in 1996, and he spent plenty on his family. In 2005, the popcorn entrepreneur visited his sister-in-law when she claimed she had car troubles. Her boyfriend pulled a gun on Dampier, and the two kidnapped him and killed him. They were both convicted and received life sentences.

* William "Bud" Post III: He called his winnings the "lottery of death." The Pennsylvania man, who died in 2006, won $16.2 million (800 million pesos) in 1988, but it all went downhill. His sixth wife left him. He spent time in jail for firing a gun at a bill collector. His brother was convicted for hiring a hit man to kill him. In the end Post declared bankruptcy.

* Jack Whittaker: Nothing but trouble followed the West Virginian after he won a record $314.9 million ( almost 16 billion pesos) in the multistate Powerball lottery in 2002. He gave away $3 million to local churches. More than $545,000 in cash was stolen from his car while he was in a strip club. His granddaughter Brandi died of a drug overdose. He was arrested twice for drunken driving and ordered into rehab and pleaded no contest after attacking a bar manager. Last year, his daughter, Brandi's mother, was found dead.

* Kenneth P. Proxmire: The Hazel Park, Mich., man won $1 million (50 million pesos) in 1977. Within five years, he had declared bankruptcy, and his children and wife of 18 years left him.

Janite Lee: The South Korean immigrant won $18 million(900 million pesos) in St. Louis in 1993. Eight years later, the former wig-shop owner was broke. She gave huge sums of money to Democratic Party. She spent thousands on Democratic fundraising dinners, where she sat next to President Clinton twice and once next to Vice President Al Gore. Washington University's School of Law established the Janite Lee Reading Room after she donated thousands. She lost more than $347,000 at casinos. She filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2001 with $700 left in her bank account.

* Roy Clark: After winning $188,000 (10 million pesos) in the Florida lottery in 1989, Clark, 39, went through his winnings in less than a year, mostly on drinks and limousines. A year later, he was found crushed to death in a garbage truck after apparently falling asleep in a trash bin. He had $10 left in his pocket and was given a pauper's burial.

* Billie Bob Harrell Jr.: In 1997, he won the Lotto Texas jackpot of $31 million (1.6 billion pesos). He purchased a ranch and bought half-dozen homes and cars for himself and other family members. The former Home Depot store worker made large contributions to his church. Twenty months later, he pressed a shotgun barrel against his chest and committed suicide.

* Gary Jenkins: The San Marcos, Calif., resident won $727,000 (35 million pesos)in 1988. A week later, he found his wife dead with her throat cut by her former husband.

* Evelyn Marie Adams: The Point Pleasant woman won the New Jersey lottery twice, in 1985 and 1986, but still managed to lose the entire $5.4 million (260 million pesos). The former manager of a 7-Eleven store ended up living in a trailer.

How to win a Lotto Jackpot

A lone bettor from Marikina is now P109,721,419.20 richer after hitting the jackpot prize in the Super Lotto 6/49 draw last Thursday July 29 2010.

The winner, a 27-year-old utility worker, purchased his Lucky Pick lotto ticket – 45 48 14 46 18 16 – at the lotto station of Wilhelmina Pascual in Marikina City.

The choices we make.
Lotto draw for the day, July 20 2010 Tuesday {6/49 and 6/42}
Which lotto draw would you bet 6/49 or 6/42 ?

Lotto Bettor says:
This would depend on the lotto jackpot prizes at stake for the day.

Last July 20 2010 Lotto jackpot Prizes at stake.
6/42 7/20/2010 3,000,000.00
6/49 7/20/2010 82,053,385.20

6/45 7/19/2010 22,572,739.80
6/55 7/19/2010 68,359,888.80

Almost all lotto bettors would choose the 6/49 draw because the jackpot prize is 82 million rather than choosing the 6/42 draw with a jackpot prize of 3 million.

Now a big lesson to be learned for lotto bettors.
A 50-year-old woman from Caloocan City choose and bet the 6/42 draw with the smallest lotto jackpot prize of 3 million and won the guaranteed P3 million prize on July 20 draw.
It was a small jackpot compared to the rest, but still the lone bettor for last week's 6/42 lotto draw is now a millionaire.

The woman bettor bought the winning lottery ticket -- 27 03 37 24 10 07 – at Best Hope Gaming and Amusement outlet at the Victoria Mall in Caloocan City.
The winner and her husband bought a SINGLE ticket with the numbers based on birthdays and anniversaries.

For me this sounds familiar. The numbers coming from important events in there lives and 1, 2 or maybe up to 3 lotto tickets only will do. but they even had 1 ticket only.
Does it sound familiar to you also?

What Do You Do When Your Lotto dream Plans Don’t Happen?

It seems that the winners has probably read my blog because they followed my advice. but some of you would say that you followed my advice too. But your dreams up to now has not happened.

Let me make it clear:

What do you do when God seems not to answer your prayer? you pray again.

What do you do when your lotto dreams drops to pieces? you dream again.

I only had one word for lotto bettors “Don’t wish. ...DECIDE.”
In that one line, I gave my most keep secret.

That’s what separates lotto winners from lotto losers.

Unsuccessful lotto bettors wish, hope, desire for the lotto jackpot.

That’s not enough.

Successful lotto bettors DECIDE to make their dreams happen.

That means they’ll do whatever it takes or how long it will take. Remember the 134 million pesos lotto winner from Batangas ? after 15 years of betting the lotto, finally he made it.

That means nothing will stop them because they have DECIDED to win the lotto jackpot.

Ill say it again.....
LUCK is when preparation meets opportunity

The most important thing in a lotto game is LUCK .... because we don't know when luck will come to us. The secret is betting consistent in a lotto draw. That means we are always ready when opportunity comes.

Anytime luck will come to us, we are always ready for it.
All you have to do is buy 2 or 3 lotto tickets or just like the 6/42 lotto winner from Caloocan who had 1 lotto ticket only.

You don't need to buy thousands worth of tickets.
there's a saying that...
if it is your day, then it will be your day, but we have to be always ready for it.

Are you a lotto winner in waiting ?

Did you know that Philippine lotto started in 1995?
How many years have you been playing the lotto?
How much money have you spend since playing the lotto?
Did you ever won a consolation prize ?
Have you ever tried betting your last money?
Did you ever thought of quitting ?

Is your concrete plan ready in case you will win the lotto jackpot?
I hope you have read all my previous articles because in some ways it will help you a lot.

Here are some of my advice that I want to share with you...

Winning the lotto for me is based on pure luck and if you are lucky you will win.
I believe that the gods of luck will be on your side one of this days.
Others would say it is just a superstitious belief that many of us tend to rely upon, but I believed on it because it worked for me. If you're not a believer then I respect that. But, winning the lotto also depends on you. It's also a mind game, if you know what I mean. If you play use a little strategy or if you believe those formulas then let see what happens.

Play religiously. Make it your daily ritual if you may. By doing so, this maximizes your chances of winning. The more frequent you play, the more chances you get to have in winning. It takes regular action to get what you want.

Think positive. Be optimistic. Just like everything else in life, winning the lotto would depend on you. Make it your goal. Trust and believe that you can win, just like anybody who has won already.. Be patient. Don't lose hope. If you don't win today or tomorrow, keep it cool. Always think that you can win and one day you will. Good luck.

How this lotto winners won

As far as I could remember, there are almost 1500 plus lotto jackpot winners now, since the start of lotto in 1995.

There jackpot prizes ranging from 3 million to 345 million pesos. Most lotto jackpot winners comes from Cebu and the rest are scattered to the rest of the archipelago .

Now if there are almost 1500 plus lotto jackpot winners, do you think they have the same secret formula or a lotto system, because they have won the lotto?

How did a delivery boy from Paranaque won his 111 million pesos lotto jackpot?
The taxi driver from Antipolo who also won but was killed because everybody knew he won?
The sales lady from Bulacan? The taxi driver from Laguna?
The carpenter from novaliches who won the biggest jackpot in PCSO history?
The maid from Negros Occ? The no read no write winner from Bulacan who was kidnapped?
The famous partnership of a canteen helper and the canteen owner?
The meat vendor of Davao, and the thousand other lotto winners.

Did they use the same formula to win the lotto jackpot? Where did they get this lotto formula?
So, if they did use a formula, they will not only win once but hundred more times because they have a formula to win a lotto game. They will use it every time or every draw just to make sure they will have a share or who among them will get first the lotto jackpot. Now will you believe that story?

What did this 1500 plus lotto jackpot winners did? .... First, they have all the freedom to choose what numbers they want to select or combine.
From the addresses of there homes, from there telephone or cellphone numbers, there birthdays, there anniversaries, there car plate numbers or there savings account numbers, anything that deals with a number that are important to them. Some lotto jackpot winners won also because they choose thru a lucky pick bet.

I have always said that, there's no such thing as lotto formula or there will never be a perfect formula in a lotto game. 1+1 = 2 They will have a formula that will just let you separate hot numbers and cold numbers or expected numbers that is coming out or maybe you will just choose 50% of all the numbers, or the odds or the even numbers. But in the long run, it will all be the same, that all numbers are just as important as all other numbers.

The most important thing in a lotto game is LUCK .... because we don't know when luck will come to us. Betting consistent on a lotto draw is the answer to that question. All you have to do is buy 2 or 3 lotto tickets and that will do. You don't need to buy thousands worth of ticket. there's a saying that... if it is your day then it will be your day.

So, as I have always said the more bets you have, the more chances of winning the lotto jackpot. The best example is the grocery raffle ticket that is drawn in a tambiolo. The more groceries you buy the more raffle entries you put in the tambiolo, the more chances of winning.

What a Luck !!!

Do lucky people have everything handed to them on a silver platter?

Or do lucky people just know when to seize opportunities that make things happen?

Or maybe, is somebody guiding this people on what lotto numbers should they choose?

Or when or where to buy lotto tickets or lotto scratch cards?

I found this amazing story about a woman who had just won again from a scratchie jackpot. ( same as PCSO Instant Lotto Biglang Panalo’s Kascash Instant Lotto” scratch cards)

July 7, 2010, 3:44pm

ABC News said Ginther’s first win came in 1993 when she won $5.4 million(285 million pesos).
She won a further $2 million(100 million pesos) from a $30 scratchie ticket in 2006.
then won another $3 million (150 million pesos) in 2008, again from a scratchie ticket. ABC news reported the 63-year-old bought three of her winning tickets from a local Texas store.

Lotto Angels ? listen to those voices

Sometimes we hear voices, but we always disregard those voices talking to us. But this important voices could be the message being sent to us that we need to give much attention. This could be from our conscience talking to us or could it be from a lotto angel ?

The $40 Million Dollar voice.

By Michael Warner
New York Post

Brooklyn's Clifford Maxwell is a living proof. You should pay attention to the voices in your head — they could make you $40 million richer.

The retired father of five was riding a bus past his regular lottery outlet. when an "inner voice" urged him to get off and purchase a ticket — even though he already had three entries tucked away in his wallet.

Sure enough, a few nights later the 61-year-old former MTA worker watched in stunned disbelief as his lucky seven numbers rolled across the screen — the exact numbers shown on the last of his Quick Pick ticket.

The voice that was worth $40 million that he did not disregard.

So in case you hear voices in your mind, don't disregard those voices, it could be from an angel being send by god.

This story should be an inspiration, to those that never give up, in finding ways to win the lotto jackpot.

Are you really poor ?

Do you really need to win the lotto jackpot?

How do you define the word POOR?

How do you define the word RICH?

Now while searching for the latest news about lotto, I found a story about a father and an innocent son on how poor people live.

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the province with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”
“It was great, Dad.”
“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.
“Oh yeah,” said the son.
“So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered: “I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

“We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
“We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
“We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.”
The boy’s father was speechless.
Then his son added, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.”

Now, do you still need to win the lotto jackpot?
Thanks to Dipendalal for this story.

Who else wants to be a lotto winner

A Negrense wins P94M in lotto

A Negrense became a multi-millionaire after winning the jackpot in Sunday’s draw of Super Lotto 49.
The Negros Occidental bettor was the lone winner of the P94,412,325.60
The P20 bet for the winning six-number combination – 5-15-16-26-27-28 was made at the lotto outlet in Hinigaran town,Negros Occ. It took 17 draws since May 6 before the Super Lotto 49 top prize was taken.

Another bettor from Cauayan, Isabela won P65,780,425.80 for betting on the winning six-number combination for Lotto 42. It took 18 draws since May 4 before the Lotto 42 jackpot was won.

How lucky this lotto bettors are?
Well, they are just like us, ordinary lotto bettors lining up in a lotto betting station, and the difference is that, lady luck has just knock on there doors.
I know that they have dreamed just like us, that one day they would win the lotto, and that day has come to this lotto bettors.

Could there be any secret on this lotto winners?
Maybe the secret behind picking those winning numbers is... there is no secret at all!. What they did was, they just bet on the numbers they wanted to bet just the same us we do. it was only the time that there numbers came out, and its pure luck.

So the only thing for us to win the lotto, in which there is no secret at all, is just bet and play consistent. no need to bet thousands of pesos , just with 2 or 3 lotto combination's will do ..... believe me.

Lucky money

I found another interesting story about a lotto winner who won almost 20 million pesos, and just gave away his lotto winnings.

Maybe this lucky old man was thinking, he would just set aside a small portion of his winnings and anytime now his going to die anyway.
what if he distribute the money to his relatives and neighbors, and that will make them all happy?

Agence France-Press

HANOI – A poverty-stricken 97-year-old man in Vietnam won up to $400,000(20 million pesos) in a lottery, sparking a frenzy among relatives eager to get a piece of his new-found wealth.

A neighbor in southern Ho Chi Minh City and local officials had to step in to stop the elderly man from giving away the windfall to people who had swarmed to his home.

Nguyen Van Het bagged the prize after spending 100,000 dong (just over $5) on lottery tickets from "lucky money" he received ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Small packets of "lucky money" are a traditional Tet gift.

Thanh Nien reported Het's winnings at 7.6 billion dong, or $400,000, a massive sum in a country where the annual per capita income is about $1,000.

The official, who declined to be named, said local authorities had to intervene and restore order around the man's home because so many relatives or people claiming to be relatives had turned up asking for money.

Het and his sick wife had been receiving special financial support from authorities because they lived below the poverty line..

By the way this old man used a lucky money to bet the lotto. How about asking a gift from a friend, instead of a material gift, how about a lucky money?

A lotto winner in trouble

Its really a big problem if you will win a lotto jackpot.
It could either kill you or make you sick if you are not careful about it.
I found this news about a lotto winner whose father wanted to kill his son because he won a lotto jackpot. What a story....

BRASILIA, May 28, 2010 (Reuters) — The winner of a $16 million lottery jackpot in Brazil escaped his own father's plot to kill him after police caught two contract killers supposedly hired to carry out his murder.

Police informed Fabio de Barros of the plan by his father, Francisco, to have him killed in order to keep the winnings the two had fought over since Fabio won the lotto

Francisco was arrested in Cuiaba in western Brazil. Police learned the murder plot when they monitored the phone conversations between the two men accused of working as guns-for-hire.

Tell your story about lotto

Emotions control your thinking, behavior and actions. Emotions affect your physical bodies as much as your body affects your feelings and thinking. People who ignore, dismiss, repress or just ventilate their emotions, are setting themselves up for physical illness.

Emotions that are not released but buried within the body can cause serious illness. Negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, negativity, frustration and depression cause chemical reactions in your body, that are very different from the chemicals released when you feel positive emotions such as happy, content, loved and especially winning the lotto jackpot

Hello lotto bettors .... feel free to write your feelings about lotto. whatever you want to say. Release all those feelings you have inside yourself. What you want to happen in case you win the lotto jackpot? Your plans or what you hate about lotto? how you bet. whatever you want to say just release it. Just write it down to the comment section below. So feel free to write how you feel and what you want to happen or maybe why up to now you are not able to hit the jackpot? or anything you want to say or suggest anything. Pwede tagalog basta sabihin mo lahat ang nasa kalooban mo.This is one way we could release our tensions in life and this might be able to help you unload some heavy baggage's and help you win the lotto jackpot.

lotto winner has waited for 15 years.

A businessman from Batangas officially became P134-M richer after claiming the 6/55 Grand Lotto jackpot prize he won last week.

The winner bought his ticket at a lotto outlet in Lemery, Batangas, and spent P120 for several combinations.
He claimed his prize on May 14 or two days after the draw.
The bettor’s choice of numbers was “maintained” or were significant to the businessman.

The man became the first ever Grand Lotto winner after correctly guessing the winning combination (45-27-29-12-39-31) last May 12.
He has been betting for almost 15 years since the lotto started.

I remember my article way back Jan 16 2010. The title of my article is How long can you wait. It seems that this article came true to this lotto winner. He has been betting since 1995 when lotto started. And finally after 15 years of waiting, he made it. {Please read the article dated Jan 16 2010.}

lotto winners ....

Grand Lotto 6/55.
The odds of winning the jackpot prize of Grand Lotto are one in 28,989,675 combination's. Again its 1 in 28,989,675 combination's. Despite the obvious odds, why do a lot of people still play? I can only conclude that HOPE is really a strong motivator. As the saying goes .. the poor are getting more poorer and the rich are getting more richer. But right now, some rich people I know are now poor. Thats why they are betting the lotto, just in case they might be able to hit the jackpot.

You would think that winning so much money would wash all your problems away. Sure, but then there are new problems that will crop up. Following a lotto win, you and your family will received death threats and kidnapping threats or what ever threats, in case you are not careful. This will force you to go into hiding. Imagine, living in fear of your life. That's what a big lotto win could potentially do to you. Now, imagine how much sleep you would actually get every night because you fear your life and the life of your family

Winning the lotto and gaining new found wealth can free us from financial worries but, it can also bring unanticipated consequences like stress and loss of freedom.

Many people do brag or show off their riches to there friends and neighbors. what more if they will hit the lotto. This kind of people will just create the problem that I have been saying many times.

Dreams do come true, right? But we should be very careful in case our dreams do come true. I have been discussing many times in this blog on what we should do just in case you hit the jackpot. I have a good feeling that few days from now one of you will hit the jackpot. Because the line between reality and your dream world is now very thin, and your plans are now very reachable. I don't know who will hit the jackpot but I'm sure one of you who always read this blog will get the jackpot.

So for the good and educated people like us, keep in mind this advice...
I have been saying this many times, that no one should know that you won the lotto jackpot. Again never tell that you won the jackpot.
