Let's Keep It A Secret.

I found a story on how a South African lotto winner kept his secret about winning the lotto jackpot.

Winning the lotto is what most people would love to achieve in their lifetime.

But if you won the lotto, would you ever keep it a secret from your friends and family?

No one can deny that they have found themselves thinking about how they would spend a million if they won the lottery.

There are countless stories of people who became overnight millionaires and in a short time, lose it all by overindulging.

A winner in the US found herself living in under 10 years after having spent all her 10 million dollars on fancy clothing, a big house, and lavish lifestyle.

It's no wonder that South Africa's secret lotto winner has kept a low profile ever since winning at the age of 27, spending minimal amounts of money and has not even told his partner that he is a millionaire.

In an interview the winner revealed how he has managed to not lose it all by keeping his winning a tight lipped secret.

The only people who knew that he won is his mother and sister.

He drives a second hand car and shops at local unbranded clothing stores.

He is down to earth person who lives an ordinary life. it takes some real willpower to not go on a spending spree.

His money in the bank now amounts to roughly R20 million or P83.2 million (1R- rands Currency to Philippine peso = P4.16) and he lives off the earnings from a business that he has invested in and the interest that he has been earning on the amount.

Congratulations on keeping your winnings a big secret.

We're not too sure on how many other lotto winners and future winners can do the same as you did.

This is what it Feels Like to Win the Lottery

You've been waiting for this  very moment.

You've probably had this countless dreams of winning the jackpot.

Every single night, you've prayed for it like there's no other and finally that moment has come.

So now the question is, how does it really feel like to win the jackpot.

1. Surprise.

This would be the usual first reaction.

Winning the jackpot would always come as a surprise.

You’d buy a ticket hoping for the best results but you would not know exactly how it would turn out.

2. Nervous

You would be anxious and fearful on what to do.

You really would have a difficult time processing the fast change of pace in your mind.
3.Confusion

If you win, you’ll probably be in a daze of confusion for a moment.

Actually, the confusion could last longer than a moment.

Imagine having close to nothing then having everything suddenly in the reach of your hands.

This may turn out to be too overwhelming and not so easy to grasp.

Thus, a winner would most likely need to come into terms with himself first and the reality that awaits him.

4. Glee, (Happiness, euphoria and Excitement)

The winner can now make up his mind on what he is going to do with the money and it’s up to the winner to decide where the winning goes.

All of these emotions could play out as a lotto winner tries to cope with the life-changing moment.

The nerve-racking and confusing moments will be fleeting, so don’t worry about it.

What matters is at the end of the line, you’ll leave with glee.

This story happened way back 2005

I found this old story unbelievable but it really did happened.

A Ghost story? or a Ripleys, believe it or not story?

Believe it or not this lotto story is a world record with 1326 lotto bettors winning the 2nd Jackpot prize and it happened here in our Country in a Halloween lotto draw.

Nov 4, 2005

More than P30 million in cash prizes was paid out by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) when a record-breaking 1,326 bettors won the second prize in the Halloween lotto draw.

But that was not the big story yet behind the Oct. 31 lotto 6/45 draw way back 2005

PCSO officials discovered that most of the winners who held lotto tickets containing five of the six drawn numbers had placed bets on six identical numbers: 3-18-23-28-37-42.

What was even more surprising was the fact that those who chose similar combination's simply lifted the lucky numbers from the sample number pattern that was printed as instruction on every lotto card.

"Had they thought of changing the number 18 to 19, the Philippines could have recorded the biggest number of winners who would have divided the lotto jackpot.

But the second prize winners had made the right decision because they would have romped away with only about P12,600 each if the jackpot of P16,257,499.20 was divided among the 1,326 bettors.

Fortunately, six lotto bettors changed the "18" to "19" and became instant millionaires. With the winning number combination of 3-19-23-28-37-42, they each became P2,709,583.20 richer.

"This is a very rare but not as extraordinary as having a repeat of jackpot combinations. I do not recall any lottery that drew exactly the same winning number combinations since the lotto started in the country," PCSO official said.

Balik Taya

The consolation prize for the 6-digit lotto games will be increased to P24 from P20.

The PCSO said its board of directors recently approved the “Balik-taya”, or the increase in the consolation prize, to encourage the betting public to bet again once they hit 3 out of 6 numbers in every lotto result.

PCSO Assistant General Manager Arnel Casas said the increase was brought about by public clamor following the increase in betting prices mandated by the tax reform law.
