Winner Failed to claim P173 Million Jackpot

This story happened way back 2009

Who says Filipinos are poor people?

An anonymous lotto bettor forfeited to charity P173,918,451.60 after failing to claim the amount as his prize in winning the Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot on February 22, 2009.

The bettor did not show up to present the winning lotto ticket within a one-year period (Feb. 22, 2009 to Feb.22, 2010) from the day the six-number combination that hit the jackpot was drawn.

The forfeited money represents half of the record P347,836,903.20 jackpot prize that went up for grabs during the February 22, 2009 Super-lotto 6/49 draw.

The other half was claimed by a 50-year-old Caloocan City housewife who purchased the winning ticket combination of 6-12-20-26-33-34 from the lotto outlet in Jose Street, Malibay, Pasay City.

So who is this lotto winner who doesn't need the lotto jackpot prize money, and just give it to charity worth P173,918,451.60.

If this lotto winner don't want to change his or her lifestyle, so be it.

Most lotto bettors are ordinary people and I don't believe that this lotto winner is a millionaire and just donated all the lotto prize to charity.

If you were able to read my other story titled..  A millionaire gives it all away.

Maybe then, this is true, because the winner just give away P173 million to charity.

If this lotto winner has the same attitude and thinking, then for him money is nothing, and because he believes that the sole purpose of being rich is to give away money.

Anyway this is the Philippines, and our way of handling money is different, we even worship money.

But perhaps this lotto winner didn't believe that it was possible to hit the lotto jackpot or maybe the truth is he didn't really know that his lotto ticket won the P347 Million jackpot.

Remember

No one has ever become poor, by giving.

Two Winning Tickets

If you think 433 bettors winning the ₱236 million Grand Lotto jackpot is mind-blowing enough, wait until you hear this:

One claimant even showed up with two winning tickets.

The winner had accidentally bet on the winning combination 9-18-27-36-45-54 twice.

The ₱236,091,188 jackpot of 6/55 Grand Lotto will still be divided by 433 winners.

The  bettor who had two winning tickets will receive P1,090,490.00 pesos, while the rest will recieve ₱545,245. (subject to 20% tax).

The extraordinary circumstance was met with skepticism from the public and even prompted calls for a Senate probe.

There is no such thing as good luck or bad luck. It's just God's blessings.

Do you believe in miracles?

Well, I found a beautiful story on how God made a miracle happened.

Atheist converts after Mock Prayer to Win $1 million Lottery is Answered.

A self-confessed atheist has become a believer after mocking God by sarcastically praying for his mother to win the lottery.

However, his joke prayer was amazingly answered as the next day his mother won $1 million on the New York Lottery Sweet Million game.

Sal Bentivegna, 28, who did not previously believe in God, had sarcastically asked his mother to “ask your God for a million dollars”.

However, his mother Gloria Bentivegna, follows the Catholic faith, and staying true to her belief refused to ask God for such a thing.

Taking his joke further, Sal then prayed out aloud saying, “God, I don’t know if you’re real or not, but if you are there, please let my mother win a million dollars.”

He added, “If Jesus wants me to believe in him, that’s what he’ll do”.

The following day his mother bought a “Lotto Tree” of unscratched instant win tickets from her Church’s charity auction. Sal was then left absolutely stunned when he found out his mother had won a million.

Realizing that the odds of his mother winning were so farfetched, Sal has now become a firm believer.

He testified, “I can’t shrug off that Jesus had a hand in it.”

“No pun intended, but it was a God send,” he said.

Gloria Bentivegna, reflecting on what had happened, is thankful to God for her winnings, but even more thankful for her son’s conversion. She said: “'God performed two miracles, a true miracle.”

By winning New York’s Sweet Million game, Gloria Bentivegna will now receive $50,000 every year for the next 20 years.  (Source:Daniel Blake | Christian Post Contributor)
