Betting Percentage

Experts in the game of chance say winning the Ultra Lotto 6/58 is difficult because of the sheer number of combinations that bettors can choose from.

Out of the total possible 40,475,358 million combinations in a 6/58 game, bettors normally put money on only about 25 percent average of those combinations, according to authorities familiar with how the lottery works.

That means that 75 percent of the combinations do not have even a single bet on them.

It would take a person about P971,408,592 million to bet on all the possible combinations.

The sheer size of the odds is the main reason only a fraction of possible combinations is picked by bettors, leading to higher jackpots in the successive draws.

This Story happened way back July 2012.

Building Permit number Wins

A national government employee working in the city of Manila took home  more than P72 million in winnings.

The 51-year-old government worker, husband, and father of two was the lone winner of the Superlotto 6/49 draw last July 31, 2012.

When he went to pick up the check for P72,709,153.20 at PCSO, he told officials the winning combination he had bet on 2-7-8-10-28-38  “came from a chapel” under construction in his home province.

The lotto winner may have been referring to the number of the building permit for the chapel.

The winner recently visited his home province and checked on the chapel before placing his bet on July 31.

The man bought the ticket at a lotto outlet inside a supermarket near Nagtahan Bridge, Manila. He and his wife were grocery-shopping and decided to bet at the outlet before heading home.

No matter how hard it is to win the lotto jackpot, someone does eventually WINS ... all by CHANCE.

The winner got the combination of 7-13-15-19-24-29 to win the jackpot worth P9 million.

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte lifted the suspension of lotto operations of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Malacañang said on Tuesday night.

“As per the advice of Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea, the suspension of Lotto operations has been ordered lifted by the President,” Palace spokesman Salvador Panelo said in a statement.

However, Panelo said the rest of the gaming operations with franchises, licenses or permits granted by PCSO such as Small-Town Lottery (STL), Keno and Peryahan ng Bayan, “shall remain suspended pending the investigation of illegal activities and corrupt practices related thereto until the Office of the President evaluates the results of said probe.”

“Franchise holders and operators of lotto outlets may now resume with their operations. The lifting of the suspension of lotto operations takes effect immediately,” he added.

Asked why it was lifted, Medialdea said that “investigators found no anomalies in the conduct of its operation, its sanctity remained untainted and proper regulatory rules followed.”

Last week, Duterte ordered the closure of all gaming activities of the PCSO due to “massive corruption.”

Malacañang had claimed that there was a conspiracy among major players in the PCSO games that deprived the government of its rightful share of revenues.

More than 21,000 lotto outlets and other PCSO gaming kiosks were shut down nationwide after the President declared these as illegal.
