The winner is 45-years-old and a fish trader from Malabon.

A LUCKY pick placed in a lotto outlet on Roces Avenue in Quezon City got  the jackpot 
prize of June 7 Super lotto 6/49 worth P87,697,688.40.

The solo winner got the winning number combinations of    3-6-14-32-48-49

 The lotto bettor a 44-year-old jobless woman  and a single parent, bought P100 worth of tickets.


 She placed her P100 “Lucky Pick” bets along Roces Avenue, with one of her five bet combinations matching the 6/49 winning numbers.

“Lucky Pick” bet is one where the lotto machine chooses the numbers.

The winner worked in a private firm, but availed herself of an early retirement option, then went into a buy-and-sell business using her retirement money.

Unfortunately, her business went bankrupt, thus incurring her a huge debt, including from an Indian (Bumbay) money lender.

Now that she won, she will be paying off her debts, buy a house and lot, help her relatives, and bring her sick mother to a hospital for care.

The winner  has been betting on the lotto games since 1996.

P100 million in unclaimed prizes

After all we Filipino's are not that poor. just imagine that almost a P100 million worth of winning lotto tickets were not claimed by the lotto winners.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has reverted to the charity funds of the agency some P100 million in unclaimed prizes of its online lottery games.
 
This action was taken after the one-year period to claim the winnings expired .


The unclaimed winnings included both minor and  major prizes of the 6/42 Lotto, 6/45 Mega Lotto, 6/49 Super Lotto and 6/55 Grand Lotto games.

A lotto millionaire story

As of today June 1, 2012 Friday the Jackpot prize of 6/45 is estimated to reach P33 million and the draw is today.

The lotto jackpot prize of 6/55 is estimated to reach  P55 million tomorrow.

The lotto jackpot prize of 6/49 is estimated to reach  P 75 million by Sunday's draw.

This will take a time again to have 3 straight big draws.

As of Yesterday the 6/42 draw with a jackpot prize of P12 million has been won already and this is going to be a winners week for 2 to 3 jackpot draws.

While searching for some lotto news I found a story that being a  lotto winner sometimes comes with a burden.



Sarah Myers is alone.

She lost most of her friends and family. Her ability to trust.
All because of one ticket. One $23 million ( 966 million pesos) Powerball ticket.
“I’m never treated like a person any more. I hate that,” Myers said, her voice cracking. “To most people, I’m a bank.”

Winning the lotto, many players believe, would be the best thing to ever happen to them. To suddenly find yourself living a life of luxury, with no more worries about bills. New cars, new houses, trips, leisure.

But as those little white lotto balls pop from the tumbler, most players aren’t thinking about  the warnings.
People will call looking for money. Your friends and family, attorneys, charity groups, financial planners, lawyers. Relatives you never even knew you had will come forward.

Your mail box will fill with requests from strangers — some with sick family members, others just plain desperate or greedy — all wanting a piece of your winnings.

Despite winning the lotto, Myers kept her job at the factory to stay grounded. But her co-workers told her she was stealing a job from someone else who needed it.

She eventually quit the factory and stayed on part-time at a gas station.

The money came in especially handy the next year when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and given a grim prognosis. She’s been in remission but quit working.

Then her husband was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
When families get sick, neighbors reach out to help. But with Myers, many expected payment for their good deeds.

Still, after all the lost friends and family, she’s glad she had the winning ticket.

“It’s almost like everyone around you is taking a truth pill, “You find out who is really a friend and who is a family. You find out who looks at you like a person and not a bank. It’s nice to know, but it’s hurtful.”

There was a man who went to his Rabbi for advice on how he could win the state lottery. He was in dire need of money and that windfall was in necessity to him. The Rabbi gave him some advice and told him to start praying once a day.

The winner’s children,  are suffering from a stroke and mental-related illness.
The winner dreamed of the numbers three years ago and continued to bet on the combination until he won the jackpot.

California Lottery Winner Sues Son for Commandeering Winnings 

It's been almost a year to the day since Ronnie Lee Orender and his mom Etta May Urquhart beamed before cameras and accepted a lump sum of $32.3 million — their take before taxes from a $51 million winning lottery ticket. 

And it's been almost a year since the Urquhart and her husband Bob have seen any of the money. Instead, they claim in a lawsuit filed April 23 in Kern Superior Court in Bakersfield, Calif., that Etta May's son Ronnie Lee Orender commandeered the winning Mega Millions ticket, leaving his parents with walking-around money while he took the lion's share of the cash.

The court papers claim Orender bought 10 cars and four homes and put millions into accounts that the Urquhart's are not allowed to touch. Etta May, 76, and Bob, 79, also sued Bancorp Bank and Moneywise, SEI Investment Management, and SEI Investment Co., where they say their son invested the money. They are seeking $32.3 million, in addition to punitive damages.

According to the complaint, Etta May has been buying lottery tickets for 18 years. In her declaration, she noted that her son was not supportive of her weekly ticket purchases. "He discouraged me from playing and told me it was a waste of my money," she said.

Still, when she discovered that she had a winning ticket, her son was all too happy to go with her and her husband to the gas station where she bought it to claim the prize, she said in the filing. Lottery officials were already there, and the family was told that they needed to sign the ticket.

But Etta May was so emotional that she couldn't hold a pen, and so her son signed the ticket. Instead of writing his mom's name, he signed his own, she said. Etta May was overwhelmed with all the press attention she was getting, and so her son "suggested that Etta May tell others that she bought the ticket for Orender," the complaint stated.

He also told his mother that he would handle the money on her behalf. She said she trusted him, and agreed to tell others that she had bought the ticket for him, not herself.

Over time, however, she grew frustrated with the financial situation, and fought with her son about the money. According to Etta May, she has only received a Lincoln SUV, about $125,000 in cash and payments for miscellaneous items like a cell phone and gardener. She was also given a house to live in, although she does not own it.

Her son though bought four houses in Bakersfield, at least 10 vehicles—including a Ford Fusion, GMC SUV, and Evinrude boat--and made cash gifts of $350,000.

"Ronnie Orender is my son, and I lived with him for 18 years," she said in her declaration. "I know Ronnie Orender does not have any means to make the purchased or gifts described…with any monies other than those received from my lottery winnings."

When she finally told her son she wanted to be in charge of her cash, he refused, she alleged.

"For me, as a lawyer, I think all it takes is talking to Etta May for two minutes and it's pretty easy to see she's telling the truth and there's no question about what happened," her lawyer, Barry Goldner, told ABC News, adding that Judge Sidney P. Chapin issued temporary protective orders against Orender, his trust, and all of the financial institutions, freezing the assets.

Goldner said he has not heard from Orender yet. "But I can tell you that Etta May went to the same Mobil station twice a week for 18 years to buy lottery tickets, and amazingly, she won $51 million dollars," he said. "And somewhere between having the winning ticket and collecting the money, all of the money ended up with the son."
