Jackpot Winner of P120 million Claims Prize

The sole winner of GrandLotto 6/55 drawn on August 30, 2021, went to PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City to claim his jackpot prize of P120,063,346.80.

The new millionaire is single, 41 years of age, and a government employee in Cebu City.

He presented the lucky ticket with the winning combination of 3-5-7-13-25-28 and some identification documents. 

According to him, he had been betting these numbers for 13 years because these are all combinations of his parent and sibling’s birthdates. 

He bought the winning ticket in one of the Lotto outlets in Mandaue City, Cebu.

The winner plans to use his winnings for the treatment of his mother to regain full recovery.  

He said their life changed dramatically when his mother suffered a cardiovascular stroke in 2016. 

He also intends to continue his investment in a Mutual Fund that he had been neglected due to financial constraints brought about by the pandemic, pay off all debts and the rest could be put on a time deposit.

Under the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, a 20% tax will automatically be deducted to the jackpot prize.

The Truth of Winning The Lotto Jackpot

Lotto draws are actually based on mathematics: how the balls bounce around, at what time one is taken out, and so on.

However, since there are a lot of numbered balls, for example 6/58. So there are 58 balls numbered from 1 to 58 for many of which a very small chance for other balls to come out.

Online Lotto Betting

The online lotto betting applications and other betting systems are being considered by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office as betting alternatives during and beyond the COVID 19 pandemic period.

In a 2020 budget hearing in the House of Representatives, PCSO General Manager Royina Garma said  they are reviewing the current implementing rules and regulations of lotto operations to consider other betting systems that would address the current COVID-19 situation.

Winning The Lotto Jackpot

If tomorrow you'll hit the lotto jackpot what shall you do?

You should relax and think about the plan first. Do not claim your winnings right away or right on the next day.
