A 42-year-old  real estate agent who has been helping a group of blind beggars in his hometown in Cavite province plans to share his winnings with them as well as with his parish after hitting the P12.6-million jackpot in the Aug. 21,2012   6/42 lotto draw.

The lotto winner, who had been betting on the state lottery for the last 17 years, picked the winning combinations of  4-17-18-24-33-35 based on the birthdays of his wife and three children.

Remember  Dionie Reyes who won the Lotto 6/42 draw on April 22, 2008, who lived the life of a millionaire and spend all his winnings  for three months?

He lived in a P4-million house in a posh subdivision, drove around in a sports utility vehicle (SUV), and gave goodwill money, ranging P1,000 to P 850,000, to relatives and friends. He also gambled daily, womanized, and went on regular drinking sprees.

You don't want to be like him, would you?

The 99% of lotto bettors will tell you NO.

Don't be a bankrupt lotto jackpot winner.

After a big lotto jackpot win, planning is everything, the initial decisions you make are going to determine if the money will bring you great happiness or if you are destined to become another riches to rag story.

One reason why a lotto jackpot winner goes bankrupt because  the lotto winner have had no previous experience in handling the large amounts of money that can be won in the lotto, nor are they aware of the pitfalls of having to much money.

Some of the most common mistakes are:

 1. Failure To Manage the money

 2. Irresponsible Spending

 3. Failure to invest properly

 4.  Lifestyle choices

5.  Friends and relatives

6. Drugs and Alcohol

7. Gambling

But, like any large windfall of money, either from lotto or inheritance you need to handle your new found fortune carefully. That means have a concrete plan.

The best advice at the moment is to deposit it first in the bank.  Do not do anything until the smoke clears from your head.

6 lottery winners who did some serious good!

Every time a big jackpot rolls around, it seems people always have the same tireless conversations. If a huge pile of cash suddenly fell in your lap tomorrow, what would you spend it on?

Maybe you'd spend it on your family, make sure your kids or parents were set for life, lavish yourself and your loved ones with trips or new cars, or simply pay off all the bills and do some seriously smart investing. With that much money, charitable giving would probably be on your mind, too, and there are plenty of big jackpot winners who have actually done *gasp* really good things with their fortunes.

Colin and Chris Weir: Little acts of kindness add up big
The British couple snagged the highest jackpot in the country's history, 161 million pounds (almost $251 million in U.S. dollars). They are known for using their money to basically fund any good deed they care to, most recently buying a fancy new prosthetic limb for a young teen who had lost his leg to cancer. They have also helped a promising young Scottish tennis player get quality training, funded several athletic improvement projects and paid for the refurbishment of a historic paddle steamer.

Allen and Violet Large: 'What you never had, you never miss'
In 2010, Canadian couple Allen and Violet Large won a $11.2 million Lotto prize. Violet Large was enduring treatments for cancer, and the couple decided to give away most of their fortune to family, friends, hospitals, churches, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army and even their local fire department. Their logic was pretty simple: "What you never had, you never miss," Violet said. They truly prove that the real prize of life has nothing to do with money. "That money that we won was nothing," Allen said. "We have each other."

Anonymous donor: A fortune in a church's collection plate
The pastor at a struggling Baltimore parish got a huge surprise when he discovered a winning $30,000 lottery ticket in the collection plate one Sunday in 2011. The ticket, which had already been scratched off to reveal the prize, was left anonymously, and at first, the pastor didn't know why it had been left behind. It was only when he took it to the Maryland Lottery Headquarters that he confirmed the jackpot. The money was used to cover church expenses, and, of course, to do what churches should do best. "We have a lot of people in need,” the pastor said. “Hopefully, we can give some back, especially since this is the way we received it.”

Sheelah Ryan: A lasting legacy of helping others
When Sheelah Ryan won $55 million in 1988, the media storm rolled in, along with unsolicited investments and even marriage proposals. Ryan, however, kept a low profile, and instead started the Ryan Foundation. Her foundation provided countless charitable efforts, everything from paying overdue rent for single mothers and helping stray cats, to supporting low-cost housing projects. Ryan died in 1994, but her foundation lives on to continue charitable work in her name. "I thank God every day that I have the ability to help others, not that I won," Ryan had said of her winnings.

Les Robins: Invest in a passion
In 1993, Les Robins' $111 million payday was the highest Powerball jackpot in the country. Robins, a junior high school teacher, founded Camp Winnegator, a day camp for local Wisconsin children. The camp sits on a 226-acre plot, also bought by Robins. Camp Winnegator is still going strong, a testament that fast fortune can still add up to long-lasting kindness.

Jim Dancy: Every little bit counts
Compared to some other jackpots, Jim Dancy's $10,000 prize from 2009 seems positively paltry. But 10 grand is big money to most, and after talking to friends, the Michigan man decided to donate the whole thing to the Kalamazoo United Way. The president of the KUW called the donation "an act of incredible kindness and generosity," and Dancy said he felt good about his decision. "I know the needs in the community are great right now, so for me it was the right thing to do," he said

What good causes would you turn to if you were suddenly a mega-millionaire?

Jackpot Prize P 28,530,781.20 Million

A lotto bettor from Tondo  and Cavite shared the lotto  Jackpot after claiming their over Php4 million pot money each in the July 23 Mega Lotto, 6/45 draw .

The first winner, a 51-year-old welder, shared the jackpot prize of Php 8,216,550 or Php4,108,275 with his co-winner from Cavite, who also claimed half of the jackpot prize.

It actually took five days before he learned he was one of the two jackpot winners, after he saw the winning numbers posted at the lotto outlet near his home where he bought a ticket for P20.

He deliberately delayed claiming the prize for several days so his neighbors won’t take notice that he had won in the lotto.

He has been betting  the lotto for 10 years.

The other lucky bettor, who hailed from Cavite province, claimed the other half of the jackpot three days after the draw.

The winning number combinations were  7-12-23-27-29-34.

A lotto bettor from  San Jose, Antique also  won the Php 15,136,385 jackpot prize in the Aug. 9  6/42 lotto draw with winning number combinations of 14-22-25-33-41-42.

Thinking of winning the  lotto jackpot in an illegal way?
I found a story on how a woman tried to claim a lotto jackpot with a fake winning lotto ticket.

An Elgin, Illinois, woman tried to cash in on the record $656 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot with a ticket she bought online eight minutes after the winning numbers were drawn.

Leandria Williams, 28, was initially charged with wire fraud for falsifying documents. She has now been charged with attempted theft and forgery..

An investigator from the Illinois Department of Lottery contacted the sheriff's office on April 4 after Williams came into the lottery claims office in Des Plaines and said she had a winning ticket for the Mega Millions jackpot drawn on March 30,

The ticket bore the winning numbers, but records showed only three Mega Millions winners and none of those tickets were from the Chicago area.

Lottery logs showed Williams' ticket was produced shortly after 10 p.m. on March 30, eight minutes after the winning numbers were drawn. Williams also produced an email receipt that was altered.
Lottery officials told Williams she had to complete a claim form that would be sent to Springfield for verification.

Williams filled out the form and submitted her fraudulent documents.
Lottery officials and police met with Williams on April 16 and she was arrested. Officials said today that Williams' scam was the first of its kind in Illinois.

"Instant Millionaires"

6/55- 0 winner
Draw date: 8/8/2012
Expected Jackpot Prize P 85 Million

A national government employee working in the city of Manila took home today  more than P72 million in winnings.

The 51-year-old government worker, husband, and father of two was the lone winner of the Superlotto 6/49 draw last July 31.

When he went to pick up the check for P72,709,153.20 at PCSO on this morning, he told officials the winning combination he had bet on—02-28-10-07-38-08— “came from a chapel” under construction in his home province.

The lotto winner may have been referring to the number of the building permit for the chapel.

The winner recently visited his home province and checked on the chapel before placing his bet on July 31.

The man bought the ticket at a lotto outlet inside a supermarket near Nagtahan Bridge. He and his wife were grocery-shopping and decided to bet P360 at the outlet before heading home.

The man had been betting for seven years, thrice a week.

A tropical storm battering Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Monday could not stop a 32-year-old sewer and mother of three children from going to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) from her home in Bulacan to claim the P21 million lotto jackpot.

A factory worker earning a minimum wage, the bettor won the 6/45 draw on July 18 when she picked the winning numbers 02-4-9-18-27-28.

She paid P20 for the 2 tickets  combinations which she had picked according to her children’s birthdays and ages..

Another lucky bettor  won the jackpot  prize of P34,087,183.20 in the Lotto 6/42 draw.

The winner placed the winning bet in Valenzuela City on July 28, matching the drawn combination of Lotto 6/42’s . 2-3-5-10-31-34

The biggest winner for the month of  July is a Sorsogon City single mother who won P163 million in the Grand Lotto 6/55 draw last July 4.
