A 72-year-old bettor from Cainta, Rizal won the 6/55 grand lotto draw last April 20,2013. The winner has already claimed his P132,004,796.40 jackpot prize.

He hit the winning combination 7-11-27-31-48-53 from one of  the 4 lotto combination he bought worth P80.

The lucky bettor said he was jogging with a friend when he decided to buy a lotto ticket. He even borrowed P80 to purchase the ticket.

He said every Saturday, together with his friend they go jogging. But that day, he forgot his wallet, so he borrowed P80 from his friend to be able to place that lotto bet.”

He said he began betting in the national lottery in 1995, but started concentrating on the Grand Lotto game because of the bigger prizes. He added that even if he only got five of six digits, he would still get a P150,000 consolation prize.

But in last Saturday’s draw, he hit the jackpot.

He would be sharing his winnings with his family of six children—and with his best friend.

He said he was planning to also use his winnings to renovate his house and build a row of apartment units.

Finally after 21 draws  6/55  has a winner.

A lucky bettor from Luzon won the much-coveted Grandlotto 6/55 jackpot prize worth P132 million during the Saturday night’s draw. ( April 20,2013 )

The winner bought the winning ticket at a lotto outlet in Cainta, Rizal, and picked the right combination of
 7-11-27-31-48-53.

Here's another sad story about a lotto winner  .....  a lesson to be learned.

$10 million lotto winner broke and catching the bus to work.

Sharon Tirabassi  hit the jackpot nine years ago by winning $10.5 million in the Canadian Lotto Super 7. Today, she has to catch a bus to her part-time job and lives in a rental property that she struggles to maintain.

The 35-year-old mother of six, who has gone from the lavish life of a high roller to now living  from paycheck to paycheck, claims that the lack of a financial adviser and uncontrolled spending led to her downfall.

Tirabassi says she was lured into purchasing all of the trappings that money can buy: a big house, fancy cars, designer wardrobe. Tirabassi also took exotic trips, threw fancy parties and gave friends and family handouts and loans, which weren’t paid back in most cases.

Before she knew it, all of her winnings had evaporated.

The once millionaire admits to checking on her bank account every now and then. There were always seemed to be enough zeroes.

Tirabassi, who had bounced around from shelter to shelter as a child, admits she was unprepared for the millionaire lifestyle. Before her win, Tirabassi, whose children are from different fathers, had just landed a job as a personal care provider and had just taken herself off the welfare roll.

She married her husband, Vinny, in 2006. He brought three children into the union and now they are raising nine altogether. The couple, who do not regret the fun they had spending the winnings, did learn a valuable lesson: “money is the root of all evil.”

Vinny told 234Daily, “Money doesn’t buy you happiness. It caused her a lot of headaches,” he says. “She lost a lot of friends, a lot of family.”

After Vinny spent 18 months behind bars for driving impaired and causing bodily harm, Tirabassi lost their home.

The family was forced to move around quite a bit and finally settled into a modest rental property.

Even though it has been nine years since her win, Tirabassi and her husband worry that they could still get robbed if people knew where they lived now, since their Lotto winnings did not make them a lot of friends.

When Tirabassi is not taking the bus to work as a personal support worker, she maneuvers a hot pink bicycle to her place of employment.

The couple’s Cadillac Escalade, which is one of four vehicles they purchased, is the only remaining one they own. The SUV needs repairs which Tirabassi says they cannot afford right now.

After all that has happened, Tirabassi cautions Lotto winners to “try to keep it to yourself. Keep it to yourself and don’t trust anybody but family.”

The young woman who claims she is not bitter about losing her millions is just now concentrating on the most important matter at hand and that is raising her children.

She tells 234Daily “I’m trying to get them to learn that they have to work for money. Every so often they ask for money and I say, ‘I don’t have any money till payday. You have to wait ’til payday!’”

A new member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is now a millionaire after hitting on April 6 Lotto 6/42's P6,113,804.60 jackpot.

The military man, aged 24, told the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) that he will use his winnings to buy farm land in Isabela province.

He said owning a farm land in his province is good business.
This was relayed to PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II by one of his staff when the lucky bettor claimed his winnings over the week.

He had a P30 bet for 6/42 using his birthday, his and his wife's age and one random number, which matched the winning combination of 41-01-30-22-07-24.

Makati City lotto bettor wins.

A 63 years old lotto bettor from Makati City won the other half of the April 2, 2013  6/42 Lotto draw with a jackpot prize of P52 million.

He picked the winning numbers 1-5-8-23-24-37 along with another bettor from Malabon City with whom he will share the prize. Each will receive  P26 million .

 Helpers Luck

A former seafarer owes his incredible luck to his helper who recently passed away.

A 57-year-old man from Malabon City won half of the P52 million jackpot in the April 2 6/42 Lotto draw by betting on a combination of the numbers which appeared in his former employee’s death certificate.

As a result, he picked the winning numbers 1-5-8-23-24-37 along with another bettor with whom he will share the prize.

The father of four told Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II that before his helper died due to complications from a disease, he gave his boss P20 and asked him to bet on the lotto for him.

“But the helper passed away the next day,” Rojas said. The man only remembered the deceased man’s request as he was processing the latter’s death certificate.

According to the man, he intends to share his winnings with his helper’s family.

Found this story amazing about friendship .

Promise is a promise

Georgia man shares $1 million Powerball lottery winnings with pals, keeping childhood promise.

A trio of childhood pals have split a $1 million lottery triumph decades after they first promised to share any future winnings.

Kenneth Wilson, 59, ignored temptation to keep the spoils for himself by honoring the childhood pact sealed with best friend James Scoles, 56, and his cousin Sanford Watson.

NBC News reports that Wilson, of Macon, Ga., scooped the cash prize from the state's Lottery Commission on Mar. 15, 2013.

With the numbers 3-7-21-44-53, he missed out on the elusive Powerball - but still won a cool million - which he said he just had to share with his buddies.

"I was just as tickled for them as I was for myself. We just had a verbal agreement and I felt like that had to be honored," Wilson told NBC News.

Scoles coincidentally had just opened a fortune cookie which read "You're going to win the lottery" when he heard the news in the North Pole.

Wilson delayed receiving the check so his friend could fly back to Georgia - and the trio set off to get their winnings.

Wilson said he had "no immediate plans" on how to spend the cash, but Scoles said he'd like to buy "Georgia honey baked ham, and a smoked turkey, and some good barbecue sauce.
