How to claim your jackpot prize.

It takes less than an hour for lotto winners to claim their prizes.

A winner first has to present his or her winning ticket for validation at a teller of the agency’s Internal Audit Department (PCSO-IAD).

Once the ticket is confirmed to be genuine and a winner, the lotto computer will spit out another ticket that says: “Pay,“ with the jackpot amount stated.

PCSO-IAD personnel do not make a fuss of the winner, even if the jackpot involves staggering amount. They just go on with their work like nothing extraordinary so as to protect the winner’s identity.

Only a few people get to know the lotto winners and are barred from announcing them.

The lotto winner will then proceed for a brief interview with another PCSO staff to get his or her profile, show an identification card, then to the Treasury Department for the issuance of the check.

Winners of PCSO lotto jackpots receive their money in lump sum, tax-free, though in check, to be drawn against their choice bank, either with the Philippine National Bank (PNB), or Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP).

Or they can request the PCSO Treasury Department to make out a check for deposit with the two banks, which are located with the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

PCSO holds office at PICC’s Secretariat.

At the bank, a winner may ask for cash and deposit the rest.

They can also ask the bank for advice on how to manage their winnings well.

PCSO officials do not interfere with winner’s bank preference, but when asked, they will suggest five or more banks where the winner can deposit his or her money.

On some occasions, the PCSO chairman may turn over the check to the winner. Oftentimes, it is being done by the general manager, thus, a chance to speak with the lucky bettor.

Jackpot winners are off limits to the news media.

Now that you know the  procedure on how to claim the jackpot prize, the only problem now is when will you hit that elusive lotto jackpot ?

A very lucky single bet

A religious lotto bettor says ..... one bet will do.

If he wants to make me a millionaire overnight, He’d give it to me even if I only have one bet.

Many lotto bettors have won the jackpot with only one bet and that has been proven many times.

It was a 1-in-29 million shot and all it took to win it all was a P20 bet.

One lucky bettor won the P163.92-million jackpot prize in Wednesday night’s 6/55 Grand Lotto draw—five months after the jackpot was last won.

The lone bettor from Luzon hit the winning combination of  10-26-32-36-37-49.

The lone winner placed a single bet of P20 on the maintained numbers at a lotto outlet in Sorsogon City in Bicol.

Just Imagine one single bet worth P20.

Twelve other bettors will each receive a consolation prize of P150,000  for hitting five of the six-digit combination.

Another 1,226 bettors won P2,000 each for getting four numbers correct, while 32,662 others can claim P150 each for guessing three numbers right.

28.9 million combinations

Experts in the game of chance say winning the Grand Lotto is difficult because of the sheer number of combinations that bettors can choose from.

Out of the total possible 28.9 million combinations in a 6/55 game, bettors normally put money on only about 25 percent of those combinations, according to authorities familiar with how the lottery works.

That means that 75 percent of the combinations do not have even a single bet on them.
It would take a person about P580 million to bet on all the possible combinations.

The sheer size of the odds is the main reason only a fraction of possible combinations is picked by bettors, leading to higher jackpots in the successive draws.

Did you know ......

Last February 15, 2012,  two bettors won the  6/55 P300.15 million jackpot after both correctly guessed the winning combination of 10-11-14-16-20-28.

Strangely, neither of the two winners has collected their prizes, according to PCSO records.

The winning combination in that February draw was picked in one ticket bought in Hinunangan, Southern Leyte, and in another ticket bought in Taytay, Rizal.
