Lotto winner gives away P173.9 million

Who says Filipinos are poor people? An anonymous lotto bettor forfeited to charity a total P173,918,451.60 after failing to claim the amount as his prize in winning the Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot on February 22, 2009.
The bettor did not show up to present the winning lotto ticket within a one-year period (Feb. 22, 2009 to Feb.22, 2010) from the day the six-number combination that hit the jackpot was drawn.
The forfeited money represents half of the record P347,836,903.20 jackpot prize that went up for grabs during the February 22, 2009 Superlotto 6/49 draw. The other half was won and claimed by a 50-year-old Caloocan City housewife who purchased the winning ticket combination of 06-34-20-26-12-33 from the lotto outlet of Alicia Ildefonso on Jose Street, Malibay, Pasay City. Last year’s P347.8-million jackpot was the highest cash prize recorded in the nine-year lottery history in the Philippines.

So who is this lotto winner who doesn't need the lotto jackpot prize money, and just give it to charity worth P173,918,451.60. If this lotto winner don't want to change his or her lifestyle, so be it. Most lotto bettors are ordinary people. And I don't believe that this lotto winner is a millionaire and just donated all the lotto prize to charity.
On my last blog titled A millionaire gives it all away. If this lotto winner has the same thinking, then this could really happen. For him money is nothing. And also my other blog titled Lotto jackpot prize still unclaimed.
Anyway this is Philippines, and our way of handling money is different. We even worship money. I remember a quote that says : We are a rich country pretending to be a poor country. Maybe then, this is true, because right now it is happening. We just give away P173 million to charity.

But perhaps this lotto winner doesn't really know, that the lotto ticket won the jackpot. And we can now all say goodbye .... P173 million.

Millionaire Gives It All Away

I found this very interesting article. Please read it carefully and you will understand what money does. This is very true to us Filipinos, who has money and the way people will treat you just because you are rich. If you dont have any money will the treatment be the same?

By Henry Samuel

Austrian millionaire Karl Rabeder is giving away every penny of his £3 million fortune after realising his riches were making him unhappy.

Mr Rabeder, 47, a businessman from Telfs is in the process of selling his luxury 3,455 sq ft villa with lake, sauna and spectacular mountain views over the Alps, valued at £1.4 million.

Also for sale is his beautiful old stone farmhouse in Provence with its 17 hectares overlooking the arrière-pays, on the market for £613,000. Already gone is his collection of six gliders valued at £350,000, and a luxury Audi A8, worth around £44,000.

Mr Rabeder has also sold the interior furnishings and accessories business -- from vases to artificial flowers -- that made his fortune.

"My idea is to have nothing left. Absolutely nothing," he told The Daily Telegraph. "Money is counterproductive -- it prevents happiness to come."

Instead, he will move out of his luxury Alpine retreat into a small wooden hut in the mountains or a simple bedsit in Innsbruck.

His entire proceeds are going to charities he set up in Central and Latin America, but he will not even take a salary from these.

"For a long time I believed that more wealth and luxury automatically meant more happiness," he said. "I come from a very poor family where the rules were to work more to achieve more material things, and I applied this for many years," said Mr Rabeder.

But over time, he had another, conflicting feeling.

"More and more I heard the words: 'Stop what you are doing now -- all this luxury and consumerism -- and start your real life'," he said. "I had the feeling I was working as a slave for things that I did not wish for or need.

I have the feeling that there are lot of people doing the same thing."

However, for many years he said he was simply not "brave" enough to give up all the trappings of his comfortable existence.

The tipping point came while he was on a three-week holiday with his wife to islands of Hawaii.

"It was the biggest shock in my life, when I realised how horrible, soulless and without feeling the five star lifestyle is," he said. "In those three weeks, we spent all the money you could possibly spend. But in all that time, we had the feeling we hadn't met a single real person --..... that we were all just actors. The staff played the role of being friendly and the guests played the role of being important and nobody was real."........

He had similar feelings of guilt while on gliding trips in South America and Africa. "I increasingly got the sensation that there is a connection between our wealth and their poverty," he said.

Suddenly, he realised that "if I don't do it now I won't do it for the rest of my life".

Mr Rabeder decided to raffle his Alpine home, selling 21,999 lottery tickets priced at just £87 each. The Provence house in the village of Cruis is on sale at the local estate agent.

All the money will go into his microcredit charity, which offers small loans to Latin America and builds development aid strategies to self-employed people in El Salvador, Honduras, Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and Chile.

Since selling his belongings, Mr Rabeder said he felt "free, the opposite of heavy".

But he said he did not judge those who chose to keep their wealth. "I do not have the right to give any other person advice. I was just listening to the voice of my heart and soul."

Lotto Winner

The smoke has been cleared. The winning combination numbers are 5-10-16-29-38-48, won by the lone bettor, using a single ticket worth P20. The jackpot prize of P201,473,805.60. is now owned by the lucky lotto bettor from Visayas avenue in Quezon city.

It was a lucky pick bet, and it was really a very very luck pick for the lotto bettor. For only P20 bet, the bettor won the jackpot prize.
Well, all the excitement is now gone. We have to settle back in reality. We have to build again once more the foundation of our dreams. We have to start again from scratch.

Remember, don't bet right away the 6/49 draw, wait for the jackpot prize of P25 million, then start betting on it, and bet consistent. And also remember, there are no systems, no lotto tips and formula to win the lotto. Just bet your numbers, whatever number you decide to bet, Because all numbers are important as any other numbers.

Why is it hard for you to win the lotto jackpot

What reason could it be, on why it is hard for you to win the lotto jackpot?
Could jealousy be the blocking force on you, on why your not winning the lotto jackpot?
Do you resent the wealthy people in any way? Remember that you can't be rich if you have an unconscious repulsion or resentment towards rich people. Are you jealous because they have big mansions, beautiful cars, the latest cellphone and the latest electronic gadgets. Are you jealous because they have all the things they want. How can we become rich if we hate them? you want to be rich but you hate rich people, So how can that be.

Lets make one person as an example for a moment.
The person I could think for now is Manny Pacquiao. He is a great boxer, we watch him everytime he fights. He has all the riches, we can think off. Every fight he earns more or less P500 million. That's equivalent to 5 lotto jackpot prizes of P100 million each per draw. Sometime we cant imagine, that he earns that kind of money. Either we hate him or we love him. Ask yourself, am I jealous of his earnings? Remember again that we can't be rich if we have an unconscious repulsion or resentment towards rich people.

Our primary models in life are our parents. We learn how to walk, talk and express ourselves by observing them and other adults around us. Now, one thing that many do not know is that we also learn how to perceive and deal with money from them.

What was your parents' relationship to money and finances? you may not know but,
you may be imitating them to this day. It is NOT your fault though, but we have to examine ourselves about money. Again examine ourselves about money. You cant be rich because your jealous. Remember again that we can't be rich if we have an unconscious repulsion or resentment towards rich people. Is this the reason on why is it hard for you to win the lotto jackpot?
